FAQ

x. What is younicate?

Younicate is an extension to the Windows™ Vista™ OS speech recognition system, giving users full control over the computer when talking to it. Younicate has been optimized to open websites, play music, play movies, execute software, and even browse the web without clicking nor typing. With younicate, we may believe in an eventual world where the interaction between a user and a computer is mainly based on just asking things to the computer.

Now imagine, selecting your songs by saying it's name or band, switching to a movie to relax on without even getting up from the couch to search for it. All of this is now possible with Younicate. On top of this, one truly revolutionary function is still being tested, and it's called Vocal Browsing. This allows you to browse the web by just saying at most the first 2 words from any link. It is currently possible to browse 95% of the websites without a mouse nor a keyboard.

Oh, and I forgot to say. This system never makes mistakes. And I give it away for free. Try it!

1. How does it work?

Every modern computer already has what it takes to recognize your voice. Younicate uses this technology and extends it for use as a specific user-defined media center and library.

2. How can I make it more accurate?

The speech recognition included in Windows Vista OS is fully trainable. It is recommended to go through this training at least 2 times.

You can find the training utility at:

Start > Control Panel > Ease of Access > Speech Recognition options > Train your computer to better understand you

3. After the training, will Younicate work with any user?

No, you must ask every user on the computer to make it's profile. The accuracy gained by the training is lost whenever the user changes.

4. How do I create and manage voice profiles for different users?

You can do it directly from your control panel. Here's how:

Start > Control Panel > Ease of Access > Speech Recognition options > Advanced Speech options (ALT+A)

Under the Speech Recognition tab,

* SELECTING A PROFILE *
Under Recognition Profiles select your profile from the list of computer users (or default if you are the only user), by pressing ALT+P and the arrow keys.
* ADDING A PROFILE *
You can add a profile by selecting the New button, by pressing ALT+N, and then following the prompts to create a new profile and train the computer on your voice (use ALT+the underlined key to select a command.)
* SELECTING A LANGUAGE *
Under Language, select the english language by pressing ALT+L and the arrow keys.

5. My operating system is not in English, how can I use Younicate in another language?

If you have Windows Vista Ultimate or above, you can select a language pack to install in the Windows Update Extras, if you don't know how to do it, you can see it at:
